This cutout Silver Wound Badge is what we use to call an officers wound badge. That is based upon being the added cost I have never seen a cut out badge on a enlisted man. Ninety 5% of the silver gilt is still on the badge with just some loss on the helmet.

This is a great example of a later silver wound badge with almost 100% of the silver frosting with the highlights polished. The badge has the typical WW2 period hinge and catch. Some veteran must have purchased it to jazz up his dress uniform.

This Steel Silver Wound Badge has be manually cut out and shows lots of use. The obverse has great detail and no finish just the plain steel. The reverse has a hinge with pin and the C catch has been repaired by soldering it back on rather sloppy job.
