EK II WWI GROUP WITH AWARD DOCUMENT FATHER & SON
| This is a neat group form a local coin shop. All the items came intogether and I feel that this is a nice family group for WWI service and his sons HY membership. This group is to Musketier Otto Kricks, and his son Guenter. The group consists of a WWI EK second class with the Preliminary Owner Certificate to Musketier Otto Kricks of the 4th Co Infantry Regiment A from Boyen 5 East Prussia received on 7/31/17. Awarded medal in the field 8/2/17. The EKII has a LW stamped in the ribbon ring, no ribbon came with it. The second document is for the WWI comerative medal with swords for front line troops from Hindenburg to Postal Employee Otto Kricks. The medal is marked KM&F on the reverse. With the group there was also a NSDAP faithful service medal in excellent condition. There is no document for this medal but also included is a button hole miniature ribbon bar with the ribbons for all three medals under a miniature of the service cross. I have to assume that Her Kricks was also awarded this medal. The second part of the group is to Gunter Kricks a Payroll Tax form for 1942 listing Gunter as an apprentice. There is another document to Gunter Kricks that is for union dues and lists his birth date as 2/28/25 and this would make him 17 when this was issued in 1942. There also are two Hitler Youth shooting awards in enamel a Good Shot and a Marksmanship with silver wreath, along with a what I would call a silver sports badge that came with the group. A neat family group wonder what happened to both of them. Condition very good++ | |||||

SPANGE SECOND CLASS | ||||
| This Spange retains almost 98% of the gilt finish and looks great. I can not tell if there is a maker mark as the Spange is attached to a section of WWI IC ribbon and I can not see under it. The four flat attachment tabs are present and I would believe a collector attached the Spange to the ribbon. Sharpe looking Spange with the highlighted edges. Condition Very good + | |||||

L/12 Knights Cross | ||||
| I was thrilled to buy this a month or so back, it belonged to the former owners father who worked in the Secret Service, super nice people! Anyway, the case is not original nor are the oak leaves. However, the cross is and a "text-book" example which is what we all like to see. I can see on the back of the cross with the wear it is actually a worn example and did not come off a factory or store shelf. Overall it is in really nice condition and in typical condition with all of the tell-tail marks we want to see in an original! | |||||

NEW ITEM CASED WAR SERVICE CROSS WITH SWORDS
| Indirect Vet purchase This cased 1st class cross has the period case with the cross design on the outer lid that would rate about 80% complete. The case has minor knocks the hinge is still tightly fastened with the blue tape over it. The push button latch is steel brass plated and the inside white lid shows the imprint of the medal arms and wreath. The lid is marked Karbach & Oosterholt? Dresden A1. The medal is with almost full gilt would rate around 98% and is made by Zimmermann with the number 20 on the reverse of the wide pin. Condition very good + | |||||

Army Paratrooper Badge In Aluminum

JUNCKERS ARMY PARATROOPER BADGE
| This recently came out of an old collection that was being broken up. I have only owned 5 Army Junckers P.B. and this one is the nicest of of the lot. This badge has close to 100% of the finish and with the bearded eagle, and proper catch and hinge makes a striking example of the rare Army Para Badge. The only flaw that I can see is the loss of the finish on the edge of the top of the wings and the diving eagle' nose. This badge has everything you could ask for and a sample of what was available 30 to 40 years ago. Condition Very good +++ | |||||

26th PANZER DIVISION UNIT EMBLEM BADGE W/CERTIFICATE
| In 45 plus years of collecting I have never seen a Unit badge with an award certificate. This 26th Panzer Unit Badges has the certificate and the two are professionally framed. The certificate is to Unteroffizier Hermann Baier 7th Panzer Grenadier Regt 9 of the 26 Panzer Division. The document is signed by the Hauptmann Und Btl Kdr. Deithelm Demming who was a Knights Cross holder. The photos are shot through the glass and the spots shown on the document are a reflection of a tree branch with leaves. Here is an opportunity to own a rare Unit Emblem plus the award document that is signed by a KCIK holder. Condition Very Good + | |||||

SILVER WOUND BADGE CASED x 65
| Indirect vet purchase this new in the box maker marked 65 Klien & Quenzer Silver wound badge has a nice frosted finish and is in a typical LDO case. The front lip missing from the cover. SILVER WOUND BADGE x L24 ZIMMERMANN | ||||
| This pressure cast wound badge by Fritz Zimmermann, Stutigart is a rare maker and the body is a thin Zink casting. All the finish is off the badge but the steel hinge and pin are still with the silver frosting. This late war WB has areas marked for the hinge and catch to be mounted. What is interesting is that the hinge is the early heavy duty style and not a casting or thin medal base. Condition good++ | |||||

OBSERVERS BADGE x ASSMANN
| This recently came out of an old collection that was being broken up. This is my favorite Luft badge by far, I just lover the eagle and large swaz. This early nickel silver badge is the style I like the best being of heavy construction and exceptionally detail. The badge has been cleaned over the years but retains the nice patina that you would expect. The only flaw with the badge is it appears that it was dropped at one time on the left hand wing that pushed it down to the wing section below. Not much of a problem but had to be mentioned. The badge is marked with the Assmann A with the hat distinctly showing. The badge has the proper hinge and catch for the period. Condition Very Good ++ | |||||

Teno Honor Badge In Case
|
This is an outstanding example of an Honor Badge of the Technical Emergency Service, (somewhat similar to the Army Corps of Engineers) bearing the year 1923. It is one of the few Nazi awards which came numbered and was awarded in an accompanying numbered case. Oftentimes now the case is missing or, even if present, mismatched to the number on the medal. No problem like that here, though! Both the award and the case bear the same number “1951”. It is in nearly mint condition. You will never have to upgrade this item! |

This particular example, although common in collectors’ circles, is none-the-less extremely rare given that it is in the original issue carton, which is stamped with the same number as the badge (!) Even the original packing paper is included with the medal, which clearly has never been worn. What can I say? Almost impossible to upgrade!

Commemorative Officer’s Medal for volunteers in the Spanish ‘Blue Division‘.
|
The Spanish Blue Division, often referred to in German literature as the 250th Division, was a group of volunteers from Spain (under Franco’s fascist rule) who served in the German army on the Eastern Front. The unit served in the northern sector of the Eastern Front, and experienced some of the harshest battles of the war together with their German compatriots. They served on the Volkhov front, as well as on the Leningrad Front, stationed in Kolpino, where some of the most vicious battles of that siege took place. They were also directly involved in the horrific Battle of Krasny Bor, in which over 70% of the division was wiped out. This medal is a commemorative medal reserved given only to Officers who served in the division (there was a different commemorative medal given to enlisted men as well. I’ll be offering one of those in the coming weeks as well). It comes in the original issue carton, in what can only be described as unworn condition! An extremely rare item to find! |

Vietnam Chaplain Medal Certificate Group
| This has to be the neatest R.V.N. certificate group I
have owned, All documents are named to Captain Fidelis J. Forrester ASN
02327519 of the Chaplin Corps. I spent part of 66 and all of 67
there and only saw one Chaplin in the field. The documents are all
professionally mounted on heavy wood plaques with clear matt finish over
them to protect them for ever. This form of mounting military documents
was pretty popular during that time period.
The documents are: Purple Heart Republic of Vietnam January 30th 1968 Bronze Star Republic of Vietnam August 1967 to July 1968 Air Medal Republic of Vietnam October 22, 1968 to November 22, 1968 Army Commendation Medal Republic of Vietnam August 1967 to June 1968 All of the mounting boards have a grove cut out of the back to use as a hanging strip I have collected Purple Hearts for years and this group was always on display as my only Chaplin related PH material. I have never researched who he served with or anything else about him. Will be a nice project for someone. Wonder where the medals are?

WWII Navy Purple Heart First Style
| Cased first style split broach sterling silver purple Heart awarded to Edward M. Renczenski, Ships's Cook Second Class U.S. Navy Reserve. The Purple Heart is in the Navy Purple award box, and in the shipping container. The medal is not named, also included is award letter from the South Pacific Force for injury received as a result of enemy action in the South Pacific Area on October 12.1942. The letter has W. F. Halsey signature I can't believe its real but then again it is of such poor quality, and does not appear to be printed or a ink stamp. I have no idea what ship he served on nor have I tried to research what happen that day back in 42. | |||||

WWII US Silver Star Purple Heart Group
|
This is a nice set for Staff Sargent Robert Darnell ASN 34 249 947 of the 13th Combat Engineer Battalion, Seventh Infantry Division, who served in the Aleutians Islands, S. Philippines, Leyte Island, and the Marshall Islands operations. The group consists of one cased Silver Star numbered 84765, case in poor condition, one Purple Heart, case in poor condition, one good conduct medal, Sterling Silver Combat Infantry Badge, two Ruptured Duck button hole pins. A notaries copy of his enlistment record and separation listing the medals and noting that the SS was awarded under GO190 HQ. Also included is his shot record, a piece of Chinese paper money enclosed in plastic probably a short shnorter? and numerous paper items. I have seen other WWII groups where the CIB was included if the unit saw combat, I would love to see the general orders for his SS. The individual paper items are newspapers from 42 and 45 , shipboard papers, and family items. As you know any good WWII groups are getting rare. Condition of medals very good+ |

CBI DFC, AM PILOTS GROUP
|
This is a killer I just purchased this group in a antique shop with no
identification to the recipient of the medals. I asked if they knew who
sold them the items and by law they have to record all purchases off the
street so they gave me the persons name and phone number that sold the
group. I called the next day and they told be that the items belonged to
her first husbands brother but she would not give me his name. So with
out knowing who the guy was it doesn't fit into my collection that's the
only reason this group is being sold. The group consists of the following A- Distinguish Flying Cross slot broach, not named, cased. B-Air Medal full wrapped broach, not named, cased. C-Pair cloth Padded Pilot wings theater made bullion with sewn on snaps. D-Full 3" size clutch back sterling Pilots wings maker LGB. E-2" size pin back Pilot wing sterling maker AMICO. F-US Army Air Corp Bullion patch theater made on velvet. G- CBI Bullion patch made on velvet theater made, matches the USAAF patch exactly. H- Coin bracelet with four coins and CBI shield in the middle. I- Bracelet made from a officers US collar insignia10K gold maker LGB. J- one second Lt. Bar looks Australian made, two sterling 1st Lt. bars, two sterling captain Bars, one winged flight collar insignia, one DI that says I Serve, and one plastic son in the service pin. Its a shame we don't know who the pilot was who he flew for or what he flew, but as I said if I knew the group would be in my collection. Condition Very Good |

NEW YORK STATE GETTYSBURG VETERAN GROUP
| I bought this group a long time ago as it has everything I look for in the C.W. era. This identified group belonged to Patrick Grcuran of Co. C 2nd US Calvary of the Gregg Division. According to the handwritten note he was at Bemmero Hill against Stewarts Calvary, and shot July 3 near Rock Creek. The 2nd Calvary then attacked Early's Division. This information is written and diagramed on the map that is inside "Gettysburg What They Did Here" a book by L.W. Minnigh. The group includes 1-the mentioned book, with the note and diagram on the map of where the action took place 2-The heavy N.Y.S. Gettysburg 1863-1893 monument dedication medal, 3-the 1863-1913 Gettysburg reunion medal, 4-Lincoln 1900 medal, 5-Gold Champion medal with crossed rifles in box from jeweler, 6-GAR 32 annual reunion medal for Utica N.Y. 7- Founders Monument Clinton N.Y. WWI 318 ENGINEER GROUP SIXTH DIVISION | ||||
| This group came out of an estate sale locally and really consist of a lot of information pertaining to the 318 Sapper Regt. The individual soldier is Pvt. F. S. Ashley Co A 318 engineer. I believe that he was involved with the trains namely the locomotive as there was a pile of information post war on different locomotives and related train organizations. Included in the group are two long photos A one that is 45" x 11" in a quality wood frame showing the unit in Newport News VA in June 12,1919 B the second one is 24" x 12" showing a smaller unit of men and has an arrow pointing to Pvt. Ashley, again in a high quality frame. C a French pass with permission to go to travel out of their assigned area, he is a corporal on this. D two letters from the Firemen and Enginemen brotherhood advising him that his dues has been paid dated June & July 1918 and passed by the censor. E List of calls for Co A 318 stationed in Leimbach Germany April 20, 1919 F a hand drawn sketch of a Heine soldier by a friend G The Kaisers, Despair a satire last will two pages, H He returned on the ship USS Orizaba there is a photo dated June 1919 of the ship and two set of instructions on how to act on the ship just like the army I When you come home book of humor, J Fun from France another humor book, K The best part is the following publications for the 318 Engineers THE SAPPER including issue NO 1 dated March 16,1918 Vancouver barracks / NO 8 May 14, 1918 U. S. Transport, in Mid Ocean / NO 9 dated June 7, 1918 Somewhere in France / January 1919 is more like a book regarding the soldiers in the unit and list all of them in the back of the publication / May 19 1919 Coblenz on the Rhine. What is great about the Sappers is the Pvt. or Corporal Ashley marked comments in pencil about the individuals listed in the articles. L There also is about 30 to 50 photographs most are from sets showing destruction and soldiers some nice shots. M there are two large size Stars and Stripes newspapers dated June 28, 1918 & July 5, 1918 N plus a bunch of newspaper clippings that I did not look at. The tags were stamped with his Tentneus shot on 42 & 43. The second set of dog tags are the typical WWII issued ones with just his name serial no and Tentnus shot 42 & 43 and blood type. What is rather neat to help place the early dog tags is a New York State National Guard medal for Athletic Competition with a bronze bar on the ribbon for Baseball 1928. The reverse is engraved with his name and the letters CF which I would take to be center field. Seems like a nice group for further research. Condition very good | |||||

NEW ITEM USMC PLAQUE | ||||
| For all you USMC collectors here is a quality wood plaque with a brass EGA on it. What is unusual about this is that the back side is cut out so you can place a USMC sword on the groove with a small piece of wood to hold it in place. Size 12" x 11" wide, not an old item but a great EGA in brass. Plaque by Creative Industries of Boston tried to look them up on the internet with no luck. Condition very good+ | |||||

NEW ITEM MINT WWII U.S. PARATROOPER BOOTS
| I hardly ever use the word Mint but in this case I will. This pair of MINT paratrooper boots are just like they issued them. The original leather laces are there the reinforced stitching on the ankle area, the clipped heels, and caped toes. The boots are size 8 E W and stamped on the inside of each boot is the army data. The boots have never been worn and ready to tromp thru Europe. The black rubber soles are marked U.S. Army and the heels are marked Goodyear. The leather is supple not hard the boots are bent over but its from long term storage can be straightened up with no problem. I don't think you can do better than this set of para boots. NEW ITEM EARLY MEDAL ORDER OF THE FOUNDERS & PATRIOTS | ||||
| Another item I just dug out of the pile, This gold medal is and early issue with the serial number 215 named to Fred A. Plum. If you haven't seen this medal before it is just gorgeous to look at and made of Gold with enamel highlights. The ribbon if full color and the clasp is marked BB&B dated 9, 1897. The only defect if I call it that is the left side of the wreath is tarnished. Other than that is just a eye catcher. I have found Plum's son joining the F&P but nothing on sr. Plum? A rare early society medal and I believe that they are still an ongoing society today. Condition very good +++ | |||||

NEW ITEM THE CARD EVERY GI WANTED TO GET "THEY'RE OFF"
| This is the second or third greeting cards like this that I have gotten from GI's. The GI's seemed to really like them for what it stood for and kept them all these years. The bag shaped card is innocent enough until you open it up and get the full meaning of the idea conveyed with the small pair of ladies under ware inside. A neat item from that period.
